A Mother’s Day poll by top discount voucher code and money-saving website CantBarsed.com has revealed  ITV’s This Morning and Dancing on Ice presenter Holly Willoughby is the most admired celebrity mum.


Holly, who is expecting her second child this year, attracted 35% of the ‘Favourite Celebrity Mum’ vote with Myleene Klass (17%) and Dannii Minogue (14%) taking second and third place respectively.

In the poll’s ‘Best Cartoon Mum’ category, Marge Simpson won an overwhelming 46% of the vote, pipping both Wilma Flintstone (33%) and Family Guy’s Lois Griffin (16%) to the post.

The online survey of 545 shoppers also revealed the majority of Brits intend to splash out on gifts this Mother’s Day, with 76% of respondents saying they will treat their mums to flowers, chocolates or jewellery. Only 3% of penny-pinching voters admitted they weren’t going to bother buying a card or gift at all!

When quizzed about what would be their preferred present, most mums proved that it’s the thought that counts by saying they’d be happy with any gifts that come their way (28%) or simply the chance to enjoy a day of relaxation with breakfast in bed (14%). However one savvy mum replied to say she always gets the gift she wants by buying it herself!
